Scout Terra specs

Every number Scout has published, and every one it hasn’t.

A spec sheet for a truck that is not yet built is mostly targets. This table keeps three things apart: what Scout has said, what reporters have said with sources, and what nobody has said. The R1T and Gladiator columns are real, measured, for-sale trucks, which is why their numbers look firmer.

Questions

Questions people ask

How much can the Scout Terra tow?

More than 10,000 pounds, per Scout, for either the battery-only or the Harvester truck. That is a target. For comparison, a Rivian R1T Tri or Quad tows 11,000 pounds and a Jeep Gladiator 7,700.

What is the Scout Terra’s ground clearance?

More than 12 inches, per Scout, with up to 35-inch tires from the factory. An R1T on air suspension reaches 14.6 inches; a Gladiator Rubicon is 11.6.

How long is the Scout Terra?

Scout has not published overall length or wheelbase. Figures circulating online, about 229 inches long on a 149-inch wheelbase, are unsourced estimates. For reference, a Gladiator is 218 inches long and an R1T 217.

Does the Scout Terra have a frunk?

Yes, with a 120-volt outlet and USB-C ports. The bed adds a 240-volt outlet and two 120-volt outlets.

How many people does the Scout Terra seat?

Five. The Traveler SUV seats up to six with an available front bench; the Terra has not been shown with one.

Does the Scout Terra have locking differentials?

Yes, mechanical lockers front and rear, standard. That is unusual: the R1T has none, and on a Gladiator you need the Rubicon to get both.

The Carolina Auto Program puts you in a Jeep Gladiator, a Ram 1500 Rebel or a Silverado Trail Boss for five and a half hours on the Carova 4x4 beach on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, no salesperson aboard, for $325. Then a no-haggle price in writing from a program dealer. If you want to know what a body-on-frame truck with lockers does in soft sand before the Terra ships, that is the closest thing there is.

Hear when a Scout reaches the beach. Scout sells direct, so a Terra drive would come through Scout, and nothing is arranged yet. Email bret@beach4x4.com with Scout Terra in the subject line and you will get one email the day it is possible. No list, no newsletter.
