Scout Terra price
Under $60,000 to start. That is the whole official number.
Scout has published one sentence about price: retail prices are targeted to start under $60,000 for both the Terra and the Traveler, in the United States, subject to change. Everything else you have read about Scout pricing is somebody’s arithmetic. Here is the sentence, what it likely covers, and what the trucks a Terra buyer is cross-shopping cost right now.
Context
What the Terra is up against, in dollars
Starting prices for the 2026 model year, as published by the makers and Kelley Blue Book, checked November 1, 2026. The Terra figure is a target.
| Truck | Starting price | How it’s powered | Lockers | How you buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scout Terra | Under $60,000, target | Electric, or electric with Harvester gas generator | Front and rear, standard | Direct from Scout |
| Rivian R1T | About $73,000 Dual Standard; about $122,000 Quad Launch Edition | Electric, 533 to 1,025 hp | None mechanical; torque control | Direct from Rivian |
| Jeep Gladiator | $38,830 Sport; $52,000 Rubicon or Mojave, before destination | 3.6-liter gas V6, 285 hp | Rear on Willys and Mojave; front and rear on Rubicon | Jeep dealer |
| Ram 1500 REV (extended range, formerly Ramcharger) | Not published; Ram has said slightly above the full-size average | Electric with 3.6-liter gas generator | Not published | Ram dealer |
R1T trims and prices changed more than once in 2026; confirm at rivian.com. The Ram figure is Ram’s own description, not a price.
Reading the number
What “under $60,000” probably means
Two things are safe to read into it. First, it is an entry price, so it describes the least expensive Terra, which is likely the battery-only truck in its base trim; Scout has not said whether the Harvester fits under the line. Second, it is a retail price before taxes, title and whatever delivery fee Scout charges, because that is how every maker states a starting price.
Two things are not safe. The after-incentive figures in circulation, as low as about $51,500, were built on federal and state credits as they stood in 2026; by the time a Terra is delivered in 2028 or later those rules may be different. And nothing about the top of the range is known: a Terra with the Harvester, 35-inch tires and the full option list will be a very different number from the entry truck, as it is with every pickup.
What is unusual is the other side of the ledger. Because Scout sells direct, the price it publishes is the price: no dealer markup over sticker, no addendum at the desk, no negotiation. Buyers who have shopped a popular truck in a tight year will know what that is worth.
- Reservation
- $100, refundable, the same for either powertrain. It holds a place in line; it does not lock a price. See reservations.
- Timing and price
- Scout says it will share more on pricing closer to production, which it targets for 2027. See the release date page for how firm that is.
- The gas-truck comparison
- For the same body-on-frame, solid-axle, locker-equipped hardware, a Gladiator Rubicon is about $52,000 and on sale now. The Terra’s premium over it buys the electric drivetrain and the generator. See drive it.
Questions
Questions people ask
How much will the Scout Terra cost?
Scout’s official statement: retail prices are targeted to start under $60,000 for both the Terra pickup and the Traveler SUV, for the U.S. market, subject to change. Scout says it will share more as production nears. That is the only official price figure.
Does the Harvester cost extra?
Scout has not said. Reporters have assumed a premium, and the under-$60,000 target is for the lineup’s entry point, which may be the battery-only truck. The $100 reservation is the same either way.
Is the Scout Terra eligible for the federal EV tax credit?
Unknown, and the rules have changed since the trucks were announced. Coverage in 2026 cited an effective price as low as about $51,500 after incentives, which assumed credits that may not apply by 2028. Treat any after-incentive figure as a guess until Scout publishes a price and the credit rules at delivery are known.
What does a comparable truck cost today?
A 2026 Rivian R1T starts at about $73,000 and runs past $120,000 at the top of the range. A 2026 Jeep Gladiator runs $38,830 for a Sport to $52,000 for a Rubicon or Mojave before destination. A Ram 1500 Rebel or a Silverado Trail Boss lands in the $60,000s equipped.
Will there be dealer markups?
No, because there are no dealers. Scout sells direct at a set price, like Rivian and Tesla. Whether Scout adjusts its own prices between reservation and delivery is the question to ask, and Scout has reserved the right to.
Is $60,000 cheap for an electric pickup?
Against electric pickups, yes: it undercuts the least expensive R1T by more than $10,000. Against gas pickups with the same hardware, no: a Gladiator Rubicon or a Rebel with lockers is $10,000 to $20,000 less. The Terra’s case is that it is the only one with both.

The Carolina Auto Program puts you in a Jeep Gladiator, a Ram 1500 Rebel or a Silverado Trail Boss for five and a half hours on the Carova 4x4 beach on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, no salesperson aboard, for $325. Then a no-haggle price in writing from a program dealer. If you want to know what a body-on-frame truck with lockers does in soft sand before the Terra ships, that is the closest thing there is.
